Highways England is planning to start work on the 3-mile A303 Sparkford to Ilchester dualling scheme in September 2021.
This improvement scheme will help to improve the route between the South West and London and the South East, while also delivering benefits for local people. It aims to:

reduce congestion

boost road safety for all, and help cut the number of accidents on the A303

improve journey times
Highways England will be holding some virtual public information events on 22 July and 23 July which will provide more information about the construction process and how traffic will be managed.
