Following the Government’s Network North announcement, Councillor Andrea Davis, Peninsula Transport Chairman said: “The South West has been constant in its message to government that resilience of our rail networks and wider infrastructure is crucial. The redistribution of the HS2 funds to our peninsula is extremely welcome and will provide a vital boost to our connectivity, helping our economy, our businesses and our communities. We need to learn the lesson of how to deliver key road and rail infrastructure schemes and the South West Rail Resilience Project is a good example of how schemes can be delivered when there is a collaborative approach.”
