Consultation Deadline: 24 June 2025
Peninsula Transport is pleased to share that the A38 Manadon Interchange scheme is currently out for public consultation. Full details and the opportunity to provide feedback can be found on the official consultation website here.
The Manadon Interchange is a priority Large Local Major (LLM) scheme identified in Peninsula Transport’s Strategic Implementation Plan (SIP) which sets out a pipeline of critical infrastructure investments to improve connectivity, boost regional growth, and support long-term sustainability across the South West.
The A38 Manadon Interchange is one of several schemes submitted to the Department for Transport (DfT) by Peninsula Transport in July 2019. Plymouth City Council followed this with an Outline Business Case (OBC) submission in 2021. In summer 2024, the DfT approved the OBC. A public consultation is now being held to refresh stakeholder feedback, given the time that has passed since the initial 2020/21 consultation.
The A38 Manadon Interchange is a crucial junction on the A38 Devon Expressway, connecting:
- The A38 (SRN) with A386 Tavistock Road, which provides access to:
- Plymouth Science Park
- Derriford Hospital
- Plymouth Marjon University
- Plymouth International Medical & Technology Park
- It also links to Outland Road, a key corridor into:
- Plymouth City Centre
- Plymouth Port
- Royal Naval Dockyard, Devonport
- Oceansgate Enterprise Zone
Peninsula Transport encourages all residents, businesses, and stakeholders to participate in this consultation and help shape the future of our strategic transport network.
